Planting action

The children in the first cycle at Tandel Community School participated enthusiastically in a gardening project, demonstrating great joy and curiosity as they carefully planted 185 young plants. The garden is now home to a diverse range of vegetables, including beetroot, leeks, lettuce, carrots, various types of cabbage, chard, pumpkin, tomatoes, and courgettes.

Through this activity, the pupils gained valuable insights into the growth process of plants—from tiny seeds to mature specimens. A particular highlight for many was the opportunity to plant peas in small pots, which they were allowed to take home, care for, and harvest later.

To conclude the day, the children were rewarded for their efforts with home-made refreshments, including beetroot lemonade and freshly baked cake. Come and have a look around our garden and see for yourself what children have done!
